It’s advisable to book permits well in advance, as they are limited in number and can sell out quickly, especially during the peak tourist seasons.
In order to track gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you must choose the sector you wish to track from when making your reservation. There are several habituated gorilla groups in each sector. There are four sectors in Bwindi National Park: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. Please note that you will be penalised 50% of the cost of a gorilla tracking permit for tracking in a different sector from your gorilla permit reserved sector.
Since there is just one habituated gorilla troop in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, choosing a sector is not necessary.
